May 26, 2022
Downtown Franklin Farmers Market returns May 28 for its 9th season
The Downtown Franklin Farmers Market will open Saturday, May 28, for its 9th season. The market will continue each Saturday through Sept. 10, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Franklin City Building parking lot, 1 Benjamin Franklin Way.
A mix of new and returning vendors will offer an array of products including fresh fruit and vegetables; plants and herbs; cut flowers; honey and bee-related products; fresh eggs; grass-fed beef and lamb; pastured chickens; jams and jellies; nut brittles; cookies; sweet potato pies; pet treats; and more. Craft booths will have handwoven baskets, leather goods, jewelry, watercolors, and other handmade items.
"When we started the market, our goal was to provide fresh, local food for area residents. We now have a large, loyal following of shoppers who are eager for the market to open this summer; they've already begun to comment on our Facebook page," said Peggy Darragh-Jeromos, Executive Director of Chamber45005. The Market is co-sponsored by the City of Franklin and the Chamber45005 (formerly known as the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce).
"Most past vendors will be returning and several new vendors will join us, including a new bread vendor and a vendor who roasts coffee. Craft vendors and several non-profits will set up info booths throughout the summer. We're excited to bring Kids' Days back, and those will be the second Saturdays of June, July, and August: The Franklin-Springboro Public Library will provide story times and GTCO will bring a bounce house," said Darragh-Jeromos.
She added, "While we love our canine visitors, we would like to remind shoppers that ALL dogs MUST be on leashes (per the City of Franklin's leash laws) and that there is no smoking in the vendor areas."
