Partnership is Key! A healthy school system goes hand in hand with a thriving business community.  The City, The Chamber, The Schools combine to make a partnership that keeps jobs, citizens, and companies in Franklin. A school system that is rated "Effective," a career college, and a local branch of Miami University combine to contribute to the health of the workforce and quality of education in Franklin.  City services are among the best in the region.  Franklin prides itself on having clear streets in bad weather when neighboring communities are still digging out.

The City of Franklin

Franklin was incorporated in 1814 and assumed city status in 1951. The city operates under a council-manager form of government, with seven at-large council members elected on a non-partisan basis to four-year terms. The council elects one of its members as mayor.

Franklin is proud of the full array of services it offers residents. A full-time workforce provides police, public works, street maintenance, building inspection, fire, and parks and recreation programming. Franklin is part of JEMS, a volunteer emergency medical district. The city has a class IV  fire rating and works to lower the classification.

Franklin is home to a number of businesses and industries, including Dayton Daily News' the state-of-the-art Print Technology Center, pictured below.

Our District
Franklin City Schools, a 2,900 student district, operates an early childhood center, five elementary buildings, a middle school, and high school. 

The district offers a variety of programs that fit the needs of all students. The district has an outstanding program for gifted students.

Franklin High School offer Honors classes, Advanced Placement Courses, and the opportunity for juniors and seniors to enroll in classes at nearby colleges.

Franklin High School received national recognition when it was honored  with a Pacesetter Award in 2007 by the High Schools That Work program
.  

Franklin City Schools is the 2008 winner of the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce Thirkield Award for property renovation.

Warren County Career Center Adult Education Full Service Center, with locations in Lebanon and Kings Mills, Ohio, offers high quality full-time and part-time programs for adult learners. We also offer customized training for business and industry in a wide variety of areas for an employer’s immediate needs to upgrade employee skills.

Our Adult Basic Literacy Education enables those who need to earn their GED get back into the educational track and become successful in life and career. Personal and professional development, job search and outplacement and many career transitions services are available through our South Campus in Kings Mills.

Career areas include: Auctioneer, Computer Software Training, Cosmetology, Electrical Power Line Mechanic, Health Careers, Heavy Equipment/Site Construction, HVAC, Information Technology, Public Safety Services and Trade and Industrial. Special interest classes such as American Sign Language, Auto Body Repair, Photography and Conversational Spanish are short-term, affordable ways to broaden your horizons.

Founded in 1976, WCCC is accredited by North Central and offers students many opportunities to earn industry certifications needed in the workplace. WCCC serves approximately 8,000 adult students each year.
