About Franklin
Franklin, Ohio, was founded in 1796 by General William C. Schenck. The city and township are home to approximately 27,800 residents. Of these, nearly 11,400 live within the city limits.

Franklin, located in one of the fastest growing counties in Ohio, provides both the quiet pace of small town living and the easy access to the big-city amenities offered by Dayton and Cincinnati.
Warren County's largest business is tourism, and the county is nicknamed "Ohio's Largest Playground."

The city hugs the Great Miami River which contributed to Franklin's history as a paper manufacturing center. Today, Franklin's industrial base is quite diversified, owing in part to its strategic location along Interstate 75.

Franklin operates under a council-manager form of government with seven at-large council members elected on a non-partisan basis to four-year terms.
